A trip to Venice should be something you don't take for granted. This city is a state of mind. It’s no wonder that painters like Manet, William Turner, and William Congdon found right here the necessary inspiration to create masterpieces appreciated by the entire world.
Here at Anda Venice, we know Venice like the back of our hand, how special and amazing it is. We would really like to make sure you feel the same, once you get here. That’s why we are sharing some travel thoughts about how you should prepare to a visit to Venice. There are for those travelers who don’t want to be only ordinary tourists but feel this city under their skin instead.
Slow down, turn off your mobile for a moment, and don’t check the time
To be in a rush is an attitude that clashes with Venice. Slowing down the pace won’t be a waste of time. It will actually enrich you as you will be able to spot so many details that you can’t even wonder.
Walk, walk, and walk
Yes, it’s a physical city. If you can, walk as much as possible. That’s the only way to better understand how life in Venice. Bridges are a part of the urban set up, and link the hundreds of islands which make Venice up. They are not only a nuisance 😊
Getting lost is always a good idea
Venice is a safe city, there are no dark, dangerous alleys but only alleys that will most probably take you to a hidden, special corner waiting to be discovered. Get lost, go with the flow and were your instinct suggest you go to.
Lights and reflections
Venice is a double city: the one we can admire every day, just above the edge of the water, and the one reflecting on the water which changes every single time a boat passes by on a canal or a cloud hides the sun. We cannot argue with Peggy Guggenheim claiming that “If anything can rival Venice in its beauty, it must be its reflection at sunset in the Grand Canal”.
