Joys and Peeta graffiti combo at Anda is just the tip of the iceberg of the amazing creative journey we have in mind for our design hostel in Venice Mestre. These 2 great graffiti artists have been our special guests for a couple of weeks. They have jazzed up our staircase with a unique 200-square metres graffiti combo project that is absolutely jaw dropping.
Our staircases and elevators area really needed a creative touch. We’ve let them experiment and mix the stricter geometrical structure of Joy’s style with Peeta‘ s anamorphic style yet run by architectural schemes. We are so proud of the result: light green, black, grey and red paintbrushes covering a surface of 200 square metres of 3D graffiti, turning an ordinary staircase into a “Staircase to Heaven”, which is how Joys has renamed this project! So, you must be curious to see what Peeta and Joys have been up to! We are sharing some photos of of their "making of"
Knowing each other for more than 20 years, and beside their individual career projects, they have lately been working altogether also on combo projects. These joint venture is bringing up t
he best of their lettering studies and turns 2 different signature styles into extraordinary 3D graffiti that just break the space, making it infinite.
Joys has started his career is 1990s turning a simple tag into a unique labyrinth of geometrical and colourful signs with a deep logical understanding of space. He has been operating very much around Padua – check our his “Project Windows”, it’s extremely interesting - and when he is not cheering grey urban landscapes, he is also extremely into sculpting, painting and in general mixed works. You must flick through Joy's Instagram account!
Peeta has also been creating since 1990s turning his “moniker” into the main subject of both his mural and painting works. When speaking about what he does he defined it “a temporary interruption of normality”. His sculptural work in the lettering is very much influenced by his architectural studies, turning plain surfaces into 3D experiences. Peeta's Instagram account is for sure inspiring, check it out!
Joys and Peeta graffiti explains clearly that Anda Venice would like to stand out as not only a contemporary design hostel but also as a cultural and artistic production centre. We believe in the power of creating extra value through culture and believe it can bring so much as experience to those of you staying at Anda, to the locals alike, our neighbourhood, and the city of Mestre.
